Apollo Victoria Theatre
Opened as a Cinema in 1930 the now Apollo Victoria is a 2,328 capacity theatrical venue brimming with art deco design. Now heading into its 90th year the theatre has transformed into one of the leading West End venues hosting musicals such as The Sound of Music with Petula Clark, Camelot with Richard Harris and Fiddler on the Roof with Topol. In 1984 Andrew Lloyd Webber’s musical extravaganza Starlight Express opened and considered the Apollo Victoria its home for many years. In 2006 Wicked, the smash-hit Broadway show opened and is now the longest running show at the venue.
We believe that the joy of live performances should be accessible to all, and we're committed to removing barriers so everyone can enjoy entertainment in a comfortable, inclusive, and welcoming environment.
Getting around
Limited stairs or stair free access is in Row F of the Dress circle. There is a total of 17 steps to these seats with handrails, or they are stair-free if you enter the theatre and auditorium using two platform lifts.
If you require lift access please aim to arrive 30-45 minutes before the performance starts at our Vauxhall Bridge Road entrance. Please notify a member of the Front of House team of your arrival and they will call for the Access Host, who will organise operation of the lifts for you. Please try to arrive on time as the lift cannot be operated during the performance. Please note, any patrons wishing to use the lifts must have either booked a wheelchair space online or you need to contact the Box Office in advance, by email or phone.
Mobility scooters cannot be used on the platform lifts. Scooters will need to be taken into the foyer via a ramp at the Wilton Road entrance and stored for the performance.
If you wish to make your visit more special, we also have an Ambassador Lounge available to book which is stair free and can be found as you enter the theatre via the Vauxhall Bridge Road entrance in the main foyer.
Our accessible toilet can be found in the main foyer near the cloakroom. Access to this toilet is stair free once inside the foyer.
Assistance dogs are welcome at the Apollo Victoria Theatre, and can either be taken into the auditorium or we are more than happy to look after your dog for you during the performance. These seats cannot be booked online, please contact us.
