At Eternity's Gate is a solo show about the life and death of Vincent van Gogh. It is a poetic tale told from the perspective of his younger brother and longtime supporter, Theo. We find Theo in a wheat-field in France, where he must come to grips with the loss of his brother.
Dubbed as "Full of beautiful language and relational truths,” by Everything Theatre, this is a play about grief, love, and sacrifice. Set in a single moment, we see Theo at a major crossroads in his life. But how did he get here? Alone, and fearing the worst for Vincent’s art and eventual legacy, Theo must find a way to ensure his brother’s success while simultaneously accepting that he is gone forever.
Accompanied by nothing but the sights and sounds of nature, letters from his brother, and a mysterious parcel, he attempts to retrace his steps.
