The Piano Bar, Regent Theatre

Constructed in 1929 as a cinema, the Regent Theatre, Stoke-on-Trent is a number one touring venue. Since re-opening, following a £23 million development of the city centre, it has played host to War Horse, Mamma Mia! and Jersey Boys.

Getting around

Access parking

There are 14 accessible spaces on Pall Mall car park at the side of the venue ST1 1HR.

Lift

At the entrance to the theatre there are 9 steps leading from the front doors up to the theatre foyer. As you enter, on the left there is an access lift suitable for wheelchair users and buggies. All of our stairwells have handrails. There is also a lift within the venue to access all levels.

Step free access and wheelchairs

For step free access in the Stalls, we recommend Rows AA – E. and for step free access in the Circle, we recommend Row B.

We have 6 wheelchair positions in the Stalls and 4 wheelchair positions in the circle.

We can also accommodate up to 14 additional wheelchairs on Row E in the Stalls.

Access is via a platform lift, which can accommodate maximum wheelchair dimensions of 82cm x 140cm and a total weight limit of 400kg, including the customer.

The passenger lift within the building can accommodate maximum wheelchair dimensions of 78cm x 140cm and a total weight limit of 630kg, including the customer.

There is lift access to all levels of the theatre from our foyer (with audible announcer).

Stalls seats are approximately 41cm wide, fold down chairs with fixed arm rests.

Circle seats are approximately 41cm wide, fold down chairs with fixed arm rests.

We also have some ‘perch’ seats which are high seats with no arm rests. These seats are 70cm high.

There are 16 perch seats in the Stalls: Row V 1-8 & V 9-16

There are 14 perch seats in the Circle: Row H 1-7 & H 25-31 and 3 either side in our ‘Box’ positions AA 1-3 & AA 4-6

Accessible toilets

Accessible toilets are available in the Foyer, the Stalls Bar and the Circle Bar.

Seat dimensions

The space between the armrests is 44cm/17 inches. The armrests are static. The only free-standing seats without armrests are in the Boxes in the Dress Circle and Platforms in the Upper Circle (these are all restricted view seats).

Services for blind, partially sighted or otherwise visually impaired audiences

Information about our venue’s audio description, touch tours and other visual services can be found on our .  We recommend seats in Stalls area for customers who require a closer view of the stage. For Audio Described shows you can sit in any area in the auditorium. Touch Tours may also be available to accompany Audio Described performances; this will be advertised on the web or brochure page for each show.
