Musical Theatre - Summer Term

Do you love acting? Do you have a passion for singing and dancing? Or perhaps you would like to come and have lots of fun and make some new friends!

The Musical Theatre course takes place every Saturday morning at Richmond Theatre from 10:30 - 12:30 and is open to anyone between the ages of 8 - 14.

Each term you’ll work with our amazing practitioners Simon Radford, Hannah Jackson and Charlotte Crackett, who will teach you dance routines, songs from famous musicals and various aspects of drama.

You’ll also get to work with inspiring guest practitioners from the West End! This course is a great way to build confidence for all ages with an informal showing at the end of the course.

Charlotte Crackett: After reaching British championship level in Freestyle Disco and Latin and Ballroom styles, Charlotte went onto study a variety of styles such as contemporary, ballet and jazz at Newcastle college, leading to graduating in 2016 from Buckinghamshire New University in BA(HONS) Dance and Performance. In her time of study, Charlotte captained and choreographed for the dance society, competing all over the UK. She also represented the country, as part of Team UK at the cheerleading world championships in Berlin 2015, placing 4th. She has since gone onto teach in a variety of musical theatre clubs, schools and universitys all around the UK, with experience in all ages.

Hannah Jackson: Hannah is a Glaswegian singer, songwriter, backing vocalist and teacher living in London. She studied music at The University of Glasgow and Vocal Performance at London Centre for Contemporary Music. She now has 8 years of teaching under her belt, having worked for various teaching academies in both Glasgow and London, and also as a private singing and piano tutor. Aside from teaching, Hannah works doing music with brain injury patients at a London hospital. She is also a member of London Contemporary Voices choir, and vocal quartet ‘Archie’. With LCV choir, she has sung with Keane, Laura Mvula and The Staves to name a few. She also has a folk solo singer-songwriter project, with which she gigs regularly. Hannah has taught at Richmond for two and a half years now and loves her Saturday mornings there! She grew up singing Musical Theatre, so it will always have a place in her heart.

Simon Radford: Simon trained at The Bridge Theatre Training Company. He has taught and directed for numerous prolific Theatre in Education companies such as Bigfoot Arts Education, Shakespeare 4 Kidz, Lewisham Youth Theatre and Theatre Exchange. He has directed a number of shows for the Hazlitt Youth Theatre in Maidstone, his own youth theatre company at the Mary Wallace Theatre in Twickenham and several Stagecoach schools. After many years of touring as an actor, Simon is currently performing in history shows for Freshwater Theatre Company in schools around London.

Please note: Classes take place on Saturdays between 27 April - 20 July 2019 between 10:30 - 12:30. There will be no class on 1 June 2019.
