This May, The Alexandra, Birmingham turns 125 - and to mark the beginning of a celebratory year, the theatre will open its doors for a free Open Day from 11am – 3pm.

There’s plenty of fun in store for attendees of all ages, including craft activities with Artist & Designer Garry Jones, technical demonstrations in flying, lighting and sound, theatre tours and face painting. There will also be the opportunity for history lovers to uncover the theatres rich archive ahead of a big birthday year with the venue’s historian.

Birmingham’s beloved theatre, The Alexandra, was built in 1901 by William Coutts and throughout its vast history, has become home to first class entertainment. In 2018, the venue underwent an extensive refurbishment and reverted to its original name, The Alexandra.
