Most famous for her role as regular presenter of BBC Gardener’s World, and host of Gardening with Carol Klein on Channel Five, Carol’s natural, practical approach has made her a popular and trusted figure amongst the British gardening public. During the Covid lockdown, Carol’s popularity skyrocketed as millions of new gardeners tried their hand at the hobby for the first time.
Earlier in 2024, Carol was diagnosed with breast cancer and underwent a double mastectomy but during the RHS Chelsea Flower Show, she was told she was cancer-free. She has continued to present and attend events with renewed gusto.
Carol will explore why our gardens are so important and how they bring joy, creativity and good health to our lives. With lyrical stories of the plants, places and people that have defined her gardening life, from learning at her mum’s feet, to building award-winning exhibits at the RHS Chelsea Flower show.
Don’t miss the opportunity to join Carol for a down-to-earth evening as she gets to the heart of gardening and answers your questions too!
Top tier tickets will include a copy of Carol Klein’s book Hortobiography RRP £22
Grand Opera House York
Not originally intended to be a theatre, the buildings that comprise the Grand Opera House York officially opened in 1902 with Little Red Riding Hood starring Florrie Ford. Since then it has been owned by FJ Butterworth, the Shepherd of Shambles and the India Pru Co. Ltd who spent £4,000,000 restoring the theatre to its former glory in 1987.
