Theatre Royal Glasgow

Opened in 1867, Theatre Royal Glasgow went through two fires before the turn of the century. Standing tall through thick and thin, the theatre has since presented a wide variety of productions covering all genres, including residents Scottish Opera and Scottish Ballet. Featuring a Victorian auditorium, Theatre Royal presents first class entertainment.

On show nights the box office will open 90 mins before curtain up offering counter sales for the evening performance only and no advance sales after 18:00. If collecting tickets we recommend you arrive at least 45 minutes prior to the start of the show.

Security

ATG continues to make the safety and security of its customers and staff a priority. As such, please bear in mind that we may undertake bag checks, so recommend you leave extra time to avoid queues, and refrain from bringing suitcases, rucksacks and large bags into the Theatre. Please note than any alcohol and/or unsealed bottles containing liquid will not be permitted into the theatre. Many thanks for your cooperation. Under 16s: All under 16s must be accompanied by an adult and be supervised at all times. There must be 1 adult for every 10 children. Children (aged 18 months to 15 years inclusive) require their own ticket and seat. Children under 18 months can sit on your lap. However, please note that children under 5 years will only be admitted to shows they may attend (children's shows and panto) and we may ask for proof of age. This is for you and your child's safety in the venue. If you are not sure if the show is suitable for your child, please check the show page of our website or call us.

There are two wheelchair spaces in the stalls, dress circle, upper circle and balcony of the Theatre Royal. There is lift access to all levels. 

We have an infra-red audio enhancement system in the auditorium. Patrons can choose between a headset or a necklace depending on their hearing needs. These are available from Front of House staff in the foyer. There are two devices available:

Induction Loop Necklace Suitable for persons wearing a hearing aid, the induction loop necklace is worn around the neck. Whilst wearing the necklace switch your hearing aid to the 'T' setting and the sound is amplified. The necklace has an adjustable volume control.

Headset This device amplifies sound through earpieces similar to regular headphones. Suitable for persons without a hearing aid

Guide, hearing and other working dogs are welcome in all parts of the theatre.

There are 2 accessible toilets in the stalls area and one in the basement, dress circle, upper circle and balcony of the Theatre Royal. There is lift access to all levels.
