Edinburgh Playhouse
In 1983, The Temptations and The Four Tops performed back-to-back on the NBC prime-time special Motown 25: Yesterday, Today, Forever. The performance was so successful that the two groups continue pairing up for tour dates to this day.

The Temptations, often referred to as American music royalty, are world-renowned superstars of entertainment, revered for their phenomenal catalogue of music and prolific career. They are one of the most iconic, bestselling brands in the entertainment world today. While the group has evolved over the years, Dr. Otis Williams has continued to lead the group and carry the torch forward for the next generation of Temptations’ fans. The Temptations are headlining concerts around the country throughout 2025. Their concerts include fan favourites such as “My Girl,” “Just My Imagination (Running Away with Me),” “Ain’t Too Proud to Beg,” “Papa Was a Rollin’ Stone,” and more.
The Four Tops will proudly celebrate 70 years of timeless hits in 2026. Originally formed in Detroit in 1953 as The Four Aims, the group changed their name in 1956 and began their recording career that same year. The band’s current lineup is anchored by Lawrence Payton Jr., Theo Peoples, Ronnie McNeir and Michael Brock. The Four Tops continue to tour extensively, bringing their undeniable hits to devoted audiences worldwide and inspiring new generations of music lovers. In an era when so many voices have come and gone, the Four Tops’ story remains a powerful testament to the enduring strength of their music, with hits like "Baby I Need Your Loving", "I Can't Help Myself (Sugar Pie, Honey Bunch)" and fan-favourite "It's The Same Old Song".

Edinburgh Playhouse

Although designed as a variety theatre, the Edinburgh Playhouse opened in 1929 as Scotland’s second largest cinema. It was hugely successful and remained so until the downturn in cinema attendance in the early 70s. When it closed in November 1973, the building was at risk of demolition, but following several years of public ‘save the Playhouse’ campaigns it was eventually saved. It reopened in 1980 as the fully functional theatre it was always intended to be. Since then, it has hosted some of the world's biggest music and stand-up comedy acts including, Elton John, The Who, Nick Cave, Kevin Bridges and Tim Minchin and international hit musicals such as The Phantom of the Opera, We Will Rock You, Wicked, Matilda and Disney’s The Lion King.
