The Jungle

Must end 3 November

★★★★★
'Astonishing. The West End just got a heart transplant.'
The Telegraph

Following universal critical acclaim and unprecedented audience response, the National Theatre and Young Vic co-production with Good Chance Theatre of Joe Murphy and Joe Robertson’s The Jungle, directed by Stephen Daldry and Justin Martin, is an extraordinary new way to experience West End Theatre.

‘The most extraordinary piece theatre I have ever seen.
Prepare for something life changing.’
Ralf Little

Miriam Buether’s triumphant set transforms the traditional Playhouse Theatre auditorium, beyond all recognition, into the bustling Afghan Café at the heart of the Calais refugee and migrant camp, where a community forged from necessity shares unimaginable stories of hope against all odds. The Jungle tells stories of loss, fear and hope, of the Calais camp’s creation – and of its eventual destruction, and of the intense, moving and uplifting encounters between refugees from many different countries and the volunteers who arrived from the UK.

‘Funny, hopeful, full of humanity.
The best piece of theatre I have ever seen. Absolutely incredible.
Deborah Frances-White, The Guilty Feminist

Meet the hopeful, resilient residents of The Jungle – just across the Channel, right on our doorstep. The Jungle tells stories of loss, fear, community and hope, of the Calais refugee and migrant camp’s creation - and of its eventual destruction. Join the residents over freshly baked naan and sweet milky chai at the Afghan Café, and experience the intense, moving and uplifting encounters between refugees from many different countries and the volunteers who arrived from the UK.
