Summer on Stage is a two-week performing arts programme for ages 8 – 17 years taking place at the Theatre Royal.

This year’s production Pantomonium! is a ‘summer panto’ - packed with favourite panto characters, musical hits, comedy and an original script specially written for a young company of actors, dancers, singers and comedians. Working alongside our team of industry professionals, the course is a great way for young people to perfect their skills for performing on the main stage, make friends, build confidence and most of all, have fun.

Doors open at 9.30am each day, and there is full supervision available until pick up at 4pm. They should bring a packed lunch and plenty of water and healthy snacks, or with parental permission, older members may go out for lunch. During the course of the two weeks, the young cast will rehearse and produce a full scale production which is performed on the main stage at the Theatre Royal on Fri 22 and Sat 23 July.

As well as the team of professional creatives, we have a team of arts assistants who take on chaperone duties whilst the children are in our care. We have been running summer schools for many years now, interrupted only due to lockdown in the past two years. They are hugely popular and a great, fun way to spend the summer holidays.
