Currently a box office critically acclaimed smash show on Broadway and tipped to win a bucket load of Tony’s again; Parade tells a true story of murder of Mary Phagan. It follows the story of Leo Frank as he is arrested, tried and found guilty and sentenced to hang.
But was he guilty or wrongly convicted. Under the pressures of a law machine determined to get a result and a hounding press whipping up both religious and racial prejudices in Atlanta Georgia in 1913 that has so much resonance with society today exactly 100 years later.
With a joyous score by Jason Robert Brown, including 'The Old Red Hills of Home', 'You Don't Know This Man', 'All the Wasted Time' and numerous rousing ensemble numbers. Simply Theatre will provide their usual innovative take of this unusual musical with real historical characters and a very true to life book by Alfred Uhry. All accompanied by a professional band - its not to be missed.
Directed by resident director, Alison Lawrence with choreography by Emma Woodhams and Musical Direction by Sarah Jones, the creative team is brimming with talent and experience.
This amateur performance is by arrangement with MTI Europe Ltd.
