Jo Richards has been an established Dance Teacher and Choreographer since 2005 and continues her work in Edinburgh and beyond. Working on community and professional projects she has a real passion for bringing out the best in everyone in a joyful, relaxed environment where embracing your unique self is thoroughly encouraged! Jo runs workshops throughout the year and can be found teaching weekly classes at Dance Base National Centre for Dance @jo.danceitout
This class is totally unique to Edinburgh, there is nothing else like it. I loved getting the chance to dance on the Playhouse stage-
I absolutely loved the workshops. I have been searching for something like this for adults for ages. Having a blend of singing and dancing and both disciplines being tied to the same musical was so fun! I just can’t wait for the next session.-

Hannah Ferrier-Baker has worked professionally as a performer and teacher non-stop for the last 18 years and most recently has worked for SJM Creative, Edinburgh Acting School, Stagecoach Edinburgh, Fischy Music and more. She spent the last 5 years running her own theatre school, but is now happy to be back to teaching, and working with over 500 enthusiastic faces each week!
Open to age 18+ on Monday nights 6.30pm-8.45pm £12.50 per session: Monday 1st July, Wednesday 3rd July, Monday 8th July and Wednesday 10th July
Each class will focus on a different musical which means you can come along to all 4 sessions and experience a different song and dance!

Although designed as a variety theatre, the Edinburgh Playhouse opened in 1929 as Scotland’s second largest cinema. It was hugely successful and remained so until the downturn in cinema attendance in the early 70s. When it closed in November 1973, the building was at risk of demolition, but following several years of public ‘save the Playhouse’ campaigns it was eventually saved. It reopened in 1980 as the fully functional theatre it was always intended to be. Since then, it has hosted some of the world's biggest music and stand-up comedy acts including, Elton John, The Who, Nick Cave, Kevin Bridges and Tim Minchin and international hit musicals such as The Phantom of the Opera, We Will Rock You, Wicked, Matilda and Disney’s The Lion King.
