Alex Sumner 17 Dec (Jersey Boys Late Bar)

Alexandra Sumner is a Birmingham born singer-songwriter. Over the years she has performed and recorded all over the UK and New York City. She is inspired by a wide range of music which can be heard in her original songs. Her sound has been described as a mix of R&B and soul. She is known for belting out ballads and says her biggest musical influences are Christina Aguilera, Aretha Franklin and Celine Dion.

Tonight Alexandra will be performing mostly covers of seasonal and well known favourites, she may throw in an original song or two of her own!

David Freja 7 & 8 Jan, 14 & 15 Jan (Bat Out of Hell Late Bar)

David Freja is a singer/songwriter who has often been compared to Leonard Cohen and Nick Cave with his deep soulful voice. He is a regular performer in and around Birmingham and further afield. Gigs of note: Birmingham Symphony Hall Foyer; The Troubadour, London; Wigan and Sidmouth folk festivals and is now a regular at the annual Nick Drake Gathering.

Black Voices and Black Arts Forum will be curating performances on selected dates.

In 2018, the venue underwent an extensive refurbishment and reverted to its original name, The Alexandra.
