Why go and see it?

This 90 minute workshop morning will include a fantastic, practical dance workshop inspired by Akram Khan's Giselle, which will see young people taking part build technique and confidence.

The activity will be accompanied by a live musician. This workshop is suitable for those with a keen interest in dance ranging up to intermediate levels, aged between 11 and 17.

This is a practical workshop, all participants’ clothing must be comfortable and movement-friendly. We recommend that Ballet or Jazz shoes be worn.

Guardians of all young people taking part will be required to complete a details form ahead of the activity taking place. This will be sent out to you via email.

Access: If your young people has access requirements please get in touch with us at [email protected] before booking so that we can support you with this experience. Please be aware that the workshop will take place in a space at the theatre only accessible by stairs.

The Palace Theatre of Varieties opened on Whit Monday 1891 and cost its owners the then colossal sum of £40,500. In the late 1970’s the Palace Theatre underwent a major refurbishment and re-opened in 1981 with Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Jesus Christ Superstar and has since then retained its position as the premier provincial touring venue.
