Be swept up in the romance of Prince Siegfried and Swan Queen Odette, and the drama of their battle against the evil sorcerer Rothbart. When the stage transforms into an enchanted lakeside, revel in the magnificent sight of ballerinas in white tutus moving in unison: one of classical ballet’s most iconic images.
Beloved for its superb dancing, beautiful sets and Tchaikovsky’s glorious music, played live by English National Ballet Philharmonic, Derek Deane's Swan Lake is a thrill for the dedicated fan or first-time ballet-goer.
English National Ballet’s founding mission is to bring the very best of ballet to as many people as possible. After nearly three years away due to onset of the pandemic, the company returns to Liverpool with great excitement to bring the magic of live ballet to audiences new and old.
Please note: this production will have two intervals.

Liverpool Empire
In 1866, Liverpool Empire began its life as The Prince of Wales Theatre and Opera House and was run by gas light and steam power. The name changed to what it is today in 1895, so has had its name for over 100 years. It went through many refurbishments, before being bought by ATG and the theatre now stands about a quarter size bigger than it originally stood.
