DCMS Events Research Programme Privacy Notice
This Privacy Policy explains how we will use personal information that you provide to us or we collect from you, for example, when you place an order for tickets via our website(s) or at one of our venues. It also explains the ways in which we will protect your personal information and sets out your rights in respect of our processing of your personal information.
"ATG” and “Ambassador Theatre Group” (and “we”, “our”, “ours” and “us”) refers to The Ambassador Theatre Group Limited, a leading venue owner, producer and ticketing operator in the arts and entertainment industry, registered in England and Wales with registration number 2671052 and whose registered office is at Alexander House, Church Path, Woking, Surrey GU21 6EJ.
In respect of any personal information that we collect from you, the data controller (the company that is responsible for your privacy), is The Ambassador Theatre Group Limited, which includes ATG Tickets.
The UK is currently experiencing a public health emergency as a result of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic and this event has been approved to take place as a pilot event as part of the UK Government’s Events Research Programme (“ERP”).

Information collected
Ballot entry
When you apply for tickets for the event, we will collect the following data about the lead booker and their guest:
Forename
Other Names
Surname
Gender
Date Of Birth
Address
Postcode
Phone Number
Email Address
Performance attended
Ticket Scanned
Seat Number (if possible)
For those persons who are not successful in receiving ballot tickets, their data will be deleted.
Venue Entry
As part of the conditions of admittance to this event, each attendee will be asked to demonstrate their COVID-19 status immediately prior to entry to the venue. The ICO has confirmed that visual checks of COVID-19 status does not constitute the processing of personal data.
How we use your data
The booking data collected will be used:
A visual check of your COVID-19 status will be used to admit your entry to the venue. No record of this will be maintained.
The data collected will be shared with The Department for Digital, Culture, Media & Sport (DCMS) for the purposes of gathering data for the ERP. DCMS will process your personal data as an independent data controller. DCMS’ privacy notice for this event can be found here.
Lawful Basis
When we process your personal data, the following lawful basis will apply:
Booking Data
We process this data on the basis of consent as it is the information that you have submitted to us.
We also process this data on the basis that it is necessary for the performance of a task carried out in the public interest or in the exercise of official authority vested in the controller. The public interest task being the ERP.
COVID-19 Status
Whilst visual checks of your evidence of your COVID-19 status are not considered personal data by the ICO, in the event that you are unable to attend the event because you are self-isolating or have received a positive COVID-19 test, then you may disclose that information to us to enable us to manage your booking.
Where we do process any sensitive health data as part of this process, we process this under Article 9 (2)(g): processing is necessary for reasons of substantial public interest (with a basis in law). When processing special category data for reasons of substantial public interest, we also need a condition for processing under the Data Protection Act 2018 and the following condition applies:
Schedule 1, Part 2, Section 6 – statutory and government purposes relating to public health and in particular the management of the COVID-19 public health emergency.
