STARRING
DOZY BEAKY MICK & TICH. In 1964 the music scene was lit up with arrival of Dave Dee Dozy Beaky Mick and Tich. By 1966 on a massive roll the band were in the charts for 50 weeks out of 52. In Germany alone in 1967, record sales outsold The Rolling Stones and The Beatles. Hits include Bend It, Zabadak and The Legend Of Xanadu plus many more. This fast-moving energetic set from DBMT will have you dancing and singing in the isles performing hit after hit after hit.
THE FORTUNES. Hailing from Birmingham England, the band first came into prominence in 1963 with their hit single Caroline, which was used as the signature tune for the influential Pirate Radio Station of the same name. Other classics include, Storm In A Teacup, You’ve Got Your Troubles, Freedom Come Freedom Go. The Fortunes still continue to tour the world today.
MIKE D’ABO was the only one man who could fill Paul Jones' shoes as front man for Manfred Mann. Already attracting attention with his group, A Band Of Angels, Mike was thrust into a wider limelight with the Manfreds and the well-oiled hit machine kept rolling on. Just Like A Woman, Semi-Detached Suburban Mr James and Mighty Quinn were just three of the string of hits with the 'new boy' in the line-up. Like his predecessor, Mike's career after the disbanding of the Manfreds in 1969 lost none of its momentum. He'd already proved his impressive skill as a songwriter by composing Build Me Up Buttercup for The Foundations and Handbags & Gladrags, a massive hit for Chris Farlowe.
STEVE ELLIS. In 1967 Love Affair moved to CBS records and Steve’s life was about to change forever. With the move brought the band to the forefront of the UK music scene with their first single the evergreen No: 1 hit “Everlasting Love”. At the time of it’s release Steve was only 17 years old. This was quickly followed by a succession of equally popular hit’s “Rainbow Valley” “Bringing On Back The Good Times”, “A Day Without Love”.
VANITY FARE, formed in 1966, are a British pop/rock group famously known for such hits as, I Live For The Sun, Early In The Morning and the worldwide classic, “Hitchin A Ride” which scored the band a number one on the Billboard 100 in the USA. The harmonies of Vanity Fare a renowned throughout the sixties scene which makes them one of the best vocal groups still touring today.
