The Alexandra Theatre annual Stage Experience production returns with Singin’ In The Rain! Following the record-breaking productions of Boogie Nights in 2018, West Side Story in 2017, and Grease in 2016, Stage Experience 2019 will once again showcase the outstanding talents of West Midlands young performers in a major production supported by a professional creative team.
Singin’ in the Rain is set in the roaring ’20s and silent movie stars are the biggest names in the world. Don Lockwood and Lina Lamont have it all, but behind the scenes things aren't always as they appear on the big screen. With the new phenomenon of the 'talking pictures' taking Hollywood by storm, Lina's squeaky voice might be the end of her career and with a talented young chorus girl set to steal Don’s heart, things are about to change in Hollywood forever.

The Alexandra was built in 1901 by William Coutts and was originally called the Lyceum. The theatre is home to first class entertainment and has welcomed productions such as Doctor Dolittle, starring Phillip Schofield and the sell-out version of Peter Pan with Joe Pasquale. This stunning theatre was recently relaunched as The Alexandra following a £650,000 refurbishment.
