Doors open 45 minutes before the start time so there is lots of time to find your seat and get settled in for the performance. There are plenty of wheelchair spaces and extra staff on hand to help those who wish to transfer. Lighting levels in the auditorium are slightly brighter, and members of the audience are able to come in and out of the auditorium if they need to or watch the show in the bar on TV screens if they prefer. Quiet areas are available and the cafés at each theatre are open for teas, coffees and a selection of cakes.
Packed with passion and drama, and some spectacular music, Tosca is one of the world’s favourite operas. As the stakes get higher she is faced with an impossible choice – will her hopes be crushed, or can love win out?
Director Anthony Besch’s shadowy setting and Peter Rice’s sumptuous designs provide a spectacular backdrop for this much-loved production.
