Coming to London’s West End from January 2024, Neil Simon’s sensational romantic comedy, Plaza Suite, brings together the brilliant duo of Matthew Broderick & Sarah Jessica Parker. These two celebrated actors, with numerous accolades including two Tony Awards (Matthew Broderick) & two Emmy Awards (Sarah Jessica Parker), will grace the stage of the iconic Savoy Theatre together for the very first time, promising a perfect evening of razor-sharp comedy.
Plaza Suite, a hilarious and sharp-witted exploration of love & marriage, captivated Broadway audiences with its charm. Now, London’s West End has the chance to grandstand two world class performers as they portray three distinctly unique couples who each find themselves in side-splitting situations within one iconic hotel room: The Plaza Suite.
Among these intriguing characters are Karen and Sam, a long-married couple facing the possibility of their relationship making an early checkout. Muriel and Jesse, former high school sweethearts, seem destined for an extended stay. Parents of the bride, Norma and Roy grapple with the challenge of coaxing their daughter out of the bathroom to celebrate her impending nuptials.
Matthew Broderick returns to the West End following his acclaimed performance in The Starry Messenger in 2019, while Sarah Jessica Parker makes her highly anticipated West End debut with Plaza Suite.
The creative team includes two-time Tony Award® winner John Lee Beatty (set design), Tony Award® winner Jane Greenwood (costume design), five-time Tony Award® winner Brian MacDevitt (lighting design), Tony Award® winner Scott Lehrer (sound design), Tony Award® winner Marc Shaiman (incidental music), and Jim Carnahan (casting director).
Under the direction of Tony winner John Benjamin Hickey, the West End transfer of Plaza Suite promises to be a timeless romantic comedy that you’ll fall in love with. Be sure to secure your tickets for this strictly limited engagement, set to open at the Savoy Theatre in January 2024.
