Mercury Fur

In a London ravaged by riots and scattered with hallucinogenic butterflies, brothers Elliot and Darren survive the only way they know how – by organising sinister ‘parties’ realising their clients’ darkest fantasies. But as they prepare a derelict flat for the next Party Guest, it becomes clear that the success of this particular party will guarantee not just their safety but their salvation.

The hit, sell-out production of Philip Ridley's masterpiece transfers to the West End.

***** 'The story’s savagery and tenderness touch us instantaneously, and there is not a weak dramatic moment over the course of two hours. The Greenhouse Theatre Company have hit the ground running with this, its debut production. Superb... a remarkable play in an excellent production.'
WhatsOnStage.com

**** 'A molotov cocktail of blood and starlight... as thrilling as it is repulsive... This Mercury Fur makes you bristle all over.'
Time Out

'Grabs you from the first second and strangles you until its climax. Raw and relevant...one of the most affecting pieces of theatre we've seen this year.'
Londonist

***** 'This production boasts a cast of actors who are perhaps giving some of their finest performances to date.'
New Current

**** 'A thoroughly absorbing and disturbing watch. Ridley’s divisive monologues are expertly treated, as is the lyricism and linguistic playfulness of his dialogue.'
Spoonfed

'Utterly spellbinding whilst being repulsively brilliant...the sheer force of Mercury Fur left me breathless. Audible gasps and tension passed through the audience with such force that I’m sure I held my breath for the first time in a theatre in a long, long while. Unrelenting and ruthless...a production that punches above its weight and knocks the wind out of you. It’s not often I leave a production and think, “Yes, this is why I do what I do” but Mercury Fur did it. We don’t give out star ratings at A Younger Theatre, but this would certainly be 5/5. Gripping, gruesome, as addictive as it is repelling, it’s a tremendous remount of Ridley’s masterpiece.'
A Younger Theatre

Directed by Ned Bennett. Designed by James Turner. Produced by The Greenhouse Theatre Company.

Philip Ridley's energetic and highly emotional performances of his own poems have become something of a cult sensation over the past few years. It is an experience not to be missed.
