Macbeth

Life... is a tale.

Told by an idiot, full of sound and fury,

Signifying nothing.

Deep in the heart of a modern-day war zone, the Macbeths seek to take control of their destinies, grasping for power by deception, manipulation and murder.

This fast-paced, contemporary version of Macbeth was originally commissioned by the West Norfolk Academies Trust in 2018 as part of a project to create accessible, educational productions for students of English and drama.

Theatre company 1616 strive to devise engaging visions of classic texts. Recent and upcoming productions include A Christmas Carol and A Midsummer Night's Dream.

This production will be performed by John Shields, Kate Gwynn, James Bentham, Stephanie Wickmere and features vocal performances by Eleanor Mack, Evangelina Burton and Brydie Service. Directed by Andrew Pritchard.
