Statement from BBC Radio 4
As this theatre meets safety standards we are removing social distancing and will run the theatre at capacity, which we are delighted about. To enable this, event organisers need to follow the Government’s “Events and Attractions” guidance which requires us to risk assess and put control measures in place to safeguard all who come to the event. The guidance recommends all event organisers consider using the NHS COVID pass where there are large, crowded settings where people are likely to be in close proximity to others outside their household. We appreciate that not everyone will be comfortable with this request to gain entry and may have strong opinions on it, but this is the advice for organisers of different types of events and is an agreement in place with other major broadcasters for the safety of the audience, venue staff , production team and cast. We wanted to explain why the safety measures are in place and hope they don’t cause too much inconvenience. We are really looking forward to seeing those of you who can make it as we’re delighted we’re able to record with audiences again.
