With its mix of gravity-defying acrobatics and highly physical dance, there’s something for everyone in Hidden. Telling a powerful story about finding light in dark times, soaring lifts, jaw-dropping moments and a constantly transforming set combine with immersive digital projections and an emotive soundscape to keep audiences on the edge of their seat from start to finish.
The fearless performers throw, catch and lift each other with immense precision, thrilling audiences with heart-in-the-mouth moments in this action-packed production.
Building on the successes of previous shows, including 2021’s major hit, Nobody, the production further develops Motionhouse’s distinctive and visceral dance-circus language, where breathtaking dance melts effortlessly into thrilling circus feats.
Hidden is co-commissioned by FABRIC, Birmingham Hippodrome and Warwick Arts Centre. Created with support from the John Ellerman Foundation and the UK’s innovation agency, Innovate UK.
Motionhouse is supported using public funding by Arts Council England and is a Birmingham Hippodrome Associate Company.
Please note: Ahead of Motionhouse’s performance of Hidden, audiences will be welcomed by a special curtain-raiser from the Boys Youth Dance group at Sir William Borlase’s Grammar School.
Made up of boys aged 7–13, the group has been working closely with Harrison Yafai, Creative Learning Dance Artist at Motionhouse, to devise an exciting new piece, showcasing their creativity, energy and talent.
