Simeon Beckett first started out as a freestyle street & hiphop dancer and later trained in choreography which led him wanting to be more versatile with styles and his craft. He earned a scholarship to train at The Urdang Academy in classical styles and musical theatre. He has danced for the likes of Kendrick Lamar, Rita Ora , Kanye West , Wiz Khalifa and Stormzy. He has also featured in musicals such as Flashdance: UK and International Tour, Motown the musical: UK tour, Everybody’s talking about Jamie, Back to the Future and, currently, the original Hamilton UK and Ireland tour.

These opportunities have also lead to him assisting and choreographing on shows and with most recently assisting with choreography on the “ Late Late Show” whilst in Los Angeles with Everybody’s talking about Jamie. He loves to teach and share all knowledge he has gained to pass on to others and bring the best out in them.

You will learn choreography from the show, Hamilton and get a chance to ask him anything you want about the tour, his experience as a dancer, his training, etc.

Vesta Tilley laid the foundation stone of what is now the Sunderland Empire on 29 September 1906 and took to the stage on 1 July 1907 to officially declare the theatre open. Masterminded by two of the contemporary heads of British theatre, Edward Moss and Oswald Stoll, the Sunderland Empire Theatre has undergone many changes since it opened but remains the North East’s premier entertainment venue.
