With a cast of the UK’s finest musicians, singers and dancers, we tell the story of the music of Carole King, from its early beginnings in New York in that hotbed of creativity that was the Brill Building to life in LA, The Troubadour Club and the singer-songwriter movement of early 70’s California.
Featuring not only songs from the Carole King songbook but also songs that were written and recorded by some of the greatest artists and songwriting partnerships and iconic artists such as Aretha Franklin, The Drifters, The Shirelles, The Monkees, The Beatles, The Everly Brothers, Dusty Springfield, Little Eva, Herman’s Hermits and James Taylor. This incredible journey through the music that defined an era will have you on your feet and dancing in the aisles.
Grand Opera House York
Not originally intended to be a theatre, the buildings that comprise the Grand Opera House York officially opened in 1902 with Little Red Riding Hood starring Florrie Ford. Since then it has been owned by FJ Butterworth, the Shepherd of Shambles and the India Pru Co. Ltd who spent £4,000,000 restoring the theatre to its former glory in 1987.
