Can the wicked Hugo be defeated, can Belle see beyond the Beast and fall in love with her captor, will the Beast’s heart be melted by Belle’s beauty?

BAFTA award winning actress Dani Harmer (Tracy Beaker, Strictly Come Dancing) stars as Fairy Bon Bon. Jen Caldwell (SIX, Kathy and Stella Solve a Murder) returns to the Grand Opera House York as Belle and Samuel Wyn-Morris (Les Miserables) will play The Prince. Award-winning comedian Phil Reid stars as Louis La Plonk, with dame extraordinaire and musical theatre star Leon Craig (Everybody’s Talking About Jamie, Disney’s Aladdin) as his larger than life mum, Polly la Plonk. Musical theatre star Phil Atkinson (The Bodyguard, Joseph & his Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat, The Little Shop of Horrors) stars as the dastardly Hugo Pompidou, with David Alcock (The Mousetrap, BBC’s SAS Rogue Heroes) as Clement.

Not originally intended to be a theatre, the buildings that comprise the Grand Opera House York officially opened in 1902 with Little Red Riding Hood starring Florrie Ford. Since then it has been owned by FJ Butterworth, the Shepherd of Shambles and the India Pru Co. Ltd who spent £4,000,000 restoring the theatre to its former glory in 1987.
