Suzanne Shaw to join Tim Vine in this year's Richmond Theatre pantomime
Following on from our earlier announcement that due to popular demand Tim Vine is making a welcome return to Richmond Theatre in this year’s pantomime, we are now thrilled to say that Suzanne Shaw will be joining Tim in our sparkling production of Aladdin, appearing in the role of the Genie.
Since her big break in the ITV show Popstars in 2001, Suzanne Shaw has gone on to become an established musical theatre and West End performer having appeared in the role of Narrator in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat and Janet in The Rocky Horror Show. Following her success in ITV’s Dancing on Ice, Suzanne joined London’s West End cast of Chicago as Roxie Hart. She also returned to the screens of ITV1 in the Dancing on Ice Christmas special where she scored a perfect ‘6’ across the board after impressing the judges with her routine.
After spending a year playing the role of Eve in the popular soap Emmerdale, Suzanne saw out 2011 with a performance as the title role in Manchester’s production of Cinderella and is delighted that this year she’ll be the one granting wishes as the Genie, in her first Richmond Theatre pantomime appearance.
Completing the casting for this magical production of Aladdin will be Nickelodeon favourite Helena Dowling as Princess Jasmine, 'Dreamboat' Gareth Leighton as the title role of Aladdin, and a familiar face from last year’s Cinderella Graham Hoadly appearing as Widow Twanky.
