Be transported to the magic of the 60s with Save the Last Dance For Me
From the writers, producers, creators and directors of the hugely successful show Dreamboats and Petticoats, Save the Last Dance for Me will take you back to the golden era of the early 60s - full of all the classic Rock ‘n’ Roll hits of the time, at the New Victoria Theatre, Woking for one week only from Mon 17 - Sat 22 June.
Written by comedy writers Laurence Marks and Maurice Gran, creators of a string of hit TV sitcoms including Goodnight Sweetheart, Birds of a Feather and Shine on Harvey Moon, Save the Last Dance for Me follows two teenage sisters who embark on a week’s holiday from their dull assembly-line jobs to the seaside. Young love blossoms as a handsome young American invites them to a dance as the local US Air force base but the sisters soon realise that holiday romance is never as simple as it sounds, and while the world around them is still watching itself in black and white, life and love can be much more colourful.
Featuring the unmistakable music of Doc Pomus and Mort Shuman including such classics as A Teenager in Love, Sweets for my Sweets, Hear I Go Again and the title hit Save the Last Dance for Me - this brand new show is a nostalgic, feel-good musical for all to enjoy.
