Our favourite things about Panto at Richmond Theatre

By Lucy Mathews

It's hard to believe it's nearly that time of year again. With opening night on 5 December nearly upon us, Pantomania has taken over Richmond Theatre!

We are unbelievably excited to be welcoming gorgeous supermodel Jerry Hall to Richmond this year. She will be gracing our stage as a terrifyingly glamorous Wicked Queen in our sparkling production of Snow White, and the Seven Dwarfs.

We know we aren't the only ones feeling giddy with anticipation, so we decided to hit the streets of Richmond and see what everyone else loves about Panto season!

I love Panto because...

'It means Christmas!'
Giulia, Hummingbird Bakery
'Of the Christmas spirit!'
Jose, Oxfam
'Of the Christmas Carols & having the chance to go to the theatre and have fun'

Milagres & Julie, Duke Street Church

' Lots of children come to Richmond (and visit Chez Lindsay to try our pancake)'
Dominique, Chez Lindsay

'It is a Christmas tradition'
Cancer Research UK
'Lots of Christmas smiles'
Côte Richmond
'Of call and response i.e. Oh no it isn’t!'
Jimmy, Waterstones
'There are lots of families around having fun'
Pizzeria Rustica

'Of the laughter'
Natasha, Farrow & Ball
'Wonderful location, theatre traditions, great atmosphere for young & old'
Visit Richmond
'I love family joy'
David, The Duke
'It makes me feel like a big kid at Christmas'
Jamie’s Trattoria
