Karen Archer is a stage and screen actress who most recently toured the UK in Stephen Daldry’s revival of An Inspector Calls.
Television appearances include as Solicitor Martin in five episodes of the BBC’s EastEnders, as lead role Vanessa in two series of ITV’s Chancer, and as Mrs Crawford in Alan Grint’s production of The Secret Garden. She has played the parts of Councillor Gordon, Lucy Hoskins and Jane Prentice in The Bill, Nancy Hunt and Kate Devon in Holby City, and the roles of Carly Wilson and Norma Loader in Casualty. In 2003 she played Elizabeth I in Channel 4’s television series of Elizabeth. 2008 saw her play a judge in Panorama: FIFA, and Dawn Steward in the BBC’s Doctors. She has played Mrs Greenaway in Hustle (2009), Rachel King in New Tricks (2011), and WPC Wootten in ITV’s What To Do When Someone Dies (2011).
On stage, Karen Archer has played Dotty Otley in Noises Off (2005), and – at Southwark Playhouse in 2006 – Gertrude in Hamlet and Maria in Twelfth Night.
