John Schwab is a screen, stage and radio actor. Television roles include My Dad’s the Prime Minister (2003), ITV’s The Only Boy for Me (2004), Doctor Who (2004), Broken News (2005), Ultimate Force (2005 and 2006), Hotel Babylon (2007), The Special Relationship (2010) and, most recently, Somellier in Episodes in 2012. Film appearances include Lifeguard, American Bureaucrat and Zino and the Snurks, all between 2000 and 2004.
On stage, he appeared as a preacher in Bill Kenwright’s production Elvis the Musical (1997), and as Juliet, Hamlet, and himself in the Complete Works of Shakespeare by the Reduced Shakespeare Company in 2001. With this same company he has appeared as himself in The Complete History of America (2001) and The Complete Word of God (abridg’d) (2003). In 2005 he appeared in The Old Vic’s National Anthems, and in 6 Dance Lessons in 6 Weeks at the Theatre Royal Haymarket in 2007. In 2008 he understudied Kevin Spacey and Jeff Goldblum in Speed the Plow at The Old Vic Theatre, and in 2011 understudied Neil LaBute’s In A Forest Dark and Deep. 2012 has seen him play Mark in The Leisure Society.
Radio work includes presenting The Virtue of Patience in 2001, and parts in The Grapes of Wrath, The Erdnase Mystery, and The Emigrants, all in this same year. In 2003, he played Jim Watson in A Life Story.Read Less
