John Gordon Sinclair is a Scottish actor best known as Gregory in Gregory’s Girl (1981). He joined Glasgow’s Youth Theatre at age fifteen and developed strong ties to the city's theatre community, working with Scottish director Bill Forsyth on a number of projects.
John has featured a number of stage productions including The Producers at Theatre Royal Drury Lane, The Real Inspector Hound at Young Vic, and The Invisible Man at Menier Chocolate Factory. In 1995 John won the Olivier Award for Best Actor in a Musical for his performance in She Loves Me (1994) at the Savoy Theatre.
Television credits include the lead role in mini-series Your Cheatin’ Heart (1990), Nelson’s Column (1994-1995) and Mad about Alice (2004). On the big screen he has featured in Forsyth’s Local Hero (1983), Erik the Viking (1989), Gregory’s Two Girls and most recently portrayed a a navy seal commander in World War Z (2013)Read Less
