Jimmy Chisholm is a stage and screen actor. He worked with the RSC back in 2000, appearing as Pompey in their Measure for Measure. Sticking with Shakespeare, his subsequent parts included Petruchio in The Taming of the Shrew at the Royal Lyceum Theatre (2003), Benedick in Much Ado About Nothing at the Byre Theatre (2003) and Shylock in The Merchant of Venice at the Royal Lyceum Theatre again (2006). In 2007 he played the title role in Volpone and performed in The 39 Steps at the Criterion Theatre in the West End. In 2008 he played George in Of Mice and Men, and in 2009 played various roles in a production of Be Near Me, produced by the National Theatre of Scotland and Donmar Warehouse. 2010 saw him appearing in seven different productions, and in 2011 he played Gary in Gargarin Way with Rapture Theatre Company.
On television, Chisholm played Wamba the Fool in the BBC’s production of Ivanhoe, and the part of Jimmy Blair for five years in Take the High Road. In 2006, he gained the part of Doctor Finn in Taggart, and in 2007 appeared as Thomas Telford in The Man Who Built Britain.
