Gavin Fowler is a stage actor who has only very recently moved into screen performances. In 2004, he made his professional debut at the Chichester Festival Theatre in Dr Faustus, followed shortly by the part of Shylock in the National Youth Theatre’s production of Shakespeare’s Merchant of Venice. In 2006, he returned to Chichester with The ‘Ofsted Inspector’, a production which transferred to the Stephen Joseph Theatre and won him the Best Actor from The Time’s National Student Drama Festival.
Whilst studying at RADA, he performed in Electra, Antigone, Crimes in Hot Countries (all 2009), and as Angelo in Measure for Measure (2010). Whilst there, he won the 2009 Olivier bursary, as awarded by the Society of London Theatre. In 2010, he also worked on a Hamlet workshop at the Young Vic and appeared in Hearts and Minds at Theatre 503. In 2011, he moved into television, appearing in Count Arthur Strong’s Entertainment Game and Margot and Mez, before returning to the stage with Too Much Pressure (Belgrade Theatre in Coventry) and The Syndicate with Ian McKellen (at Chichester). In 2012, he appeared as Lucentio in the RSC’s production of Taming of the Shrew and in the feature film Neville Rumble, with Body in the Box Productions.Read Less
