Irish soprano Anna Devin studied at the Royal Irish Academy of Music, Guildhall School of Music and Drama, and National Opera Studio and was a Young Associate Artist at the Opera Theatre Company in Dublin between 2004 and 2007. She has participated in the Jette Parker Young Artists’ Programme at the Royal Opera House from 2010-2012. Since starting at the Royal Opera House Anna successfully stepped in at the last minute to make her debut as Dew Fairy in Hänsel and Gretel’s 2010/11 season. Her previous opera roles include Belinda (Dido and Aeneas) at the Royal Irish Academy of Music, The Anne Who Steals (The King Goes Forth to France) and Rezia (Le Recontre impréuve) at Guildhall. She has also performed in Gianni Schicci for the BBC Radio 3 Broadcast, conducted by Sir Antonio Pappano. Her numerous awards include the Maggie Teyte and Miriam Licette Scholarship, finalist at the Kathleen Ferrier Award, Stuart Burrows International Voice Award, Singers’ Prize at the Gerald Moore Awards, Audience Prize in the London Handel Singing Competition, Thelma King Award for Young Singers, Great Elm Award and Independent Opera/Guildhall School of Music and Drama Postgraduate Voice Fellowship.Read Less
