Baby Flicks - Parent and Baby Screenings

Each Friday during school term time The Ambassadors Cinemas present Baby Flicks. A great way for mums, dads, grandparents and child minders to enjoy the latest blockbuster movie without worrying if their baby is restless or needs changing half way through the movie.

There is space for buggies so a sleeping baby need not be disturbed and all the baby paraphernalia attached to the average buggy can stay right where it is in case needed. Screenings are scheduled for around midday and the lighting in the screen is kept slightly brighter than usual so that parents can see to feed or change their babies and keep an eye on active toddlers, and the sound level will be reduced to protect tiny ear drums. Children under 12 months are free. Details of the screenings are advertised on the weekly cinema leaflet and on the website.

Family Flicks

Every Saturday and during most school holidays The Ambassadors Cinemas brings you Family Flicks. We will be screening fantastic films at a family friendly price providing everyone with the opportunity to start the weekend with a fun trip to the movies.

There is a programme of great kids' films that the whole family can enjoy. All films will be screened at 10.20am and tickets are just £2.* Adults pay the same but must be accompanied by at least one child. Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult. Details of the screenings are advertised on the weekly cinema leaflet and eflyer, on Family Flicks flyers and on the website.

Subtitled Films

At The Ambassadors Cinemas we aim to provide a wide range of subtitled films each week. Subtitled films have the dialogue printed along the bottom of the film image for you to read simultaneously with the action.

Subtitled films are advertised in The Ambassadors weekly film guide and on our website. Box Office also has details of all subtitled screenings.

Audio described Screenings

At The Ambassadors Cinemas we aim to provide a wide range of audio described films each week. You can collect a headset from a member of the cinema FOH staff in the cinema foyer, who will also meet you at the end of the film to collect the headset, which is worn for the duration of the film. The headset is battery operated and has a volume control. You set the switch to the loop symbol to hear the soundtrack as well as the audio description.

Audio described films are advertised in The Ambassadors weekly film guide and on the website. Box Office also has details of all audio described screenings.

Infra-red System

There is an infra-red audio enhancement system for the hearing impaired in each of the six screens. This system uses wireless infra-red transmitters to instantly relay the film sound to the user via a headset. (The quality of sound is similar to that of an FM radio compared to a digital radio). You can choose between a headset or necklace depending on your hearing requirements. Headsets or necklaces should be collected from the Cinema Pic 'n' Mix counter in the main cinema foyer and returned at the end of the screening. The headset is a set of headphones that plugs into the receiver (which is worn around the neck) and can only be used by customers that do not have a hearing aid or those that have a hearing aid without the T setting.

The necklace is an individual loop that you wear around your neck and can be used with a hearing aid in the T setting. Customers therefore with a hearing aid will require a loop necklace and customers without a hearing aid will need a headset. When using either system it is advisable that you sit in the central area of the screen auditorium. An instruction card is issued giving full instructions for the user.
