Grimsby Auditorium is a theatre situated on Cromwell Road, in Grimsby, North East Lincolnshire. With a seated audience capacity of 1,200 the Grimsby Auditorium is the largest professional theatre in Lincolnshire, and one of the larger theatres in the East of England. Built in 1995, it is managed by Ambassador Theatre Group on behalf of North East Lincolnshire Council.
Grimsby Auditorium was designed as a flexible, multi-purpose venue to host a variety of live events including concerts, theatre shows, social events, conferences and television broadcasts. The main auditorium houses retractable raked seating, which also permits the use of the auditorium as an arena style venue and sports hall, with different seating formations. Grimsby Auditorium has a maximum seating capacity of up to 1,200 patrons seated and rising to 2000 standing, the actual number varies depending on the layout and use of the main auditorium.
The auditorium stages a professional pantomime once per year, featuring both celebrities and local talent. This was previously produced by UK Productions and more recently by Pelé Productions. Recent pantomimes have included Peter Pan, Jack and the Beanstalk and Cinderella.

There are twelve wheelchair spaces available in the theatre. They are located on ground level, either on the back row of the stalls or front row of the circle. There is lift access to all levels of the theatre. All areas of the theatre are accessible to customers with limited mobility, including wheelchair users. There is level access into the Auditorium, through into the foyer, with level access into the auditorium at both sides of the foyer. The building features wide doors and additional toilet facilities for disabled people. One front of house lift provides access to the main bar and balcony seating.
Grimsby Auditorium is equipped with an infrared sound amplification system. To access the infrared system please request receiving equipment from a member of the Box Office or Front of House teams who will provide you with an induction loop necklace.
Induction Loop Necklace
Suitable for persons wearing a hearing aid, the induction loop necklace is worn around the neck. Whilst wearing the necklace, switch your hearing aid to the 'T' setting and the sound is amplified. The necklace has an adjustable volume control.
Guide, hearing and other working dogs are welcome in all parts of the theatre.
There are public toilet facilities on the ground floor of the theatre. There are also two separate, fully accessible facilities, one on the ground and the other on the first floor. Backstage there are accessible facilities. There is an emergency call-point in all accessible facilities should you need to call for a member of staff.



The theatre has a guide or ‘Social Story’, available upon request from grimsbyboxoffice@theambassadors.com. The Social Story is a visual resource for children and adults with Autism Spectrum Condition who are visiting the theatre. This resource is intended to help prepare any visitors for a new experience and to help them to become familiar with the surroundings.
