Wimbledon Music Festival Overview

Now in its fourth year the International Wimbledon Music Festival is regarded as one of the leading classical music festivals worldwide. Guaranteeing year on year a host of world-class performers and ensembles, the IWMF has quickly become a benchmark for excellence in the arts.

With 23 events over 16 days the IWMF has something to delight and intrigue every music lover. From the brilliant young Chinese guitarist, Xuefie Yang, celebrating the music of Spain to the great Kopelman and New Zealand String Quartets performing Tchaikovsky, Shostakovich and Mendelssohn. Christine Brewer, one of the world's great sopranos, performs Strauss' magical Four Last Songs and the revered Gypsy Jazz guitarist, Fapy Lafertin, takes us on a journey to the world of the legendry Django Reinhardt.

The 2012 IWMF is also proud to celebrate two premiere events this November, featuring a World Premiere production of Stravinsky's Petrushka, with projections, film and puppetry, performed by the Russian-born pianist, Mikhail Rudy, alongside the European Premiere of the Festival's first joint commission, Chopin'sWaterloo, composed by Benjamin Wallfisch at the final gala concert.

The IWMF is a two-week feast of music, song, art and words. Be sure to book your place at the table.

IWMF is a must for all lovers of music.
