Do you think you can help the Prince to enter the hidden and cursed castle and rescue the Princess?
After the successful run of Cinderella (2013/2014’s panto), UK Productions returns with another highly anticipated and magical traditional pantomime. With spectacular sets and costumes, Sleeping Beauty is fantastic seasonal fun for everyone aged 3 to 103! Starring Marc Baylis from ITV’s Coronation Street as the Prince. Marc can currently be seen as series regular Rob Donavan in ITV's Coronation Street where his character killed off the lovely Tina. He was recently nominated as Best Newcomer at both The National Television Awards and the Inside Soap Awards. His numerous other television credits include: Misfits, Sirens, Law and Order, The Bill, Eastenders, Doctors, My Uncle Silas, Battlefields, and Hollyoaks.
Joining Marc as the Good Fairy is 80s pop icon Sonia. Sonia released a number of hits during the 80's and 90's but is most famous for her number 1 hit You'll Never Stop Me Loving You and representing the UK in the 1993 Eurovision Song Contest where she came second. She has also appeared as Bunty Savage, Lily Savage's daughter and in the reality TV show Reborn in the USA.
Zoe Birkett will play the role of the evil Carabosse (Bad Fairy). Zoe earned her place as the winning female contestant in ITV’s Pop Idol 2002 by the British public. She performed in West End smash hit Priscilla Queen of the Desert, Original cast and she also originated the role of Janet Jackson in Thriller Live West End. Zoe has recently been a contestant on Channel 5’s Big Brother.
A face the children will know is Jamie Rickers who is playing Silly Billy. Jamie is a familiar face on CITV and Nickelodeon, with hosting Toonattik and Jamie and Anna's U-Pick Summer (both co-hosted by Anna Williamson, who was with us as Cinderella last year!)
Finally, playing the part of Nurse Nelly is the legend of radio, screen and stage, Bobby Crush. Bobby first came into the public eye after six winning appearances on Opportunity Knocks in the 70s. Since then he has had numerous stage roles and his own TV show.
Reviews of 2013/2014’s panto Cinderella:
'If the reaction of the kids sat next to me in the audience is any indication of how good Cinderella is, then The Churchill is on to a winner.'
The News Shopper
'The best thing about Cinderella is the Ugly Sisters. Together they’re an absolute scream from start to finish.'
'Excellent entertainment for the whole family!'
