West Side Story has opened to rave reviews at London’s Sadler’s Wells Theatre prior to arriving at New Wimbledon Theatre on Tuesday 19 November for two weeks only! With fantastic reviews from critics and audiences alike, New Wimbledon Theatre are delighted to bring West Side Story to our stage this autumn.

Renowned as  ‘The No.1 Greatest Musical Of All Time’ (The Times Top 50 Musicals 2013), West Side Story is set on Manhattan’s Upper West Side and explores the rivalry between two teenage gangs; when Tony falls in love with Maria, the sister of the rival gang’s leader, the feud takes on a new dimension, and as their love blossoms so begins a fatal journey overshadowed by violence and hatred. With ground-breaking choreography by the legendary Jerome Robbins, book by Arthur Laurents, an unforgettable score by Leonard Bernstein and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim, West Side Story changed the face of musical theatre forever.

The memorable and incredible score features the unforgettable songs, Maria, Tonight, Somewhere, America and I feel Pretty. Joey Mckneely’s vibrant stage production with the original choreography, returns to the UK after international sell out success. The UK Tour of West Side Story will visit New Wimbledon Theatre from 19-30 November.
