Richmond Theatre are delighted to announce that due to popular demand, Richmond favourite Tim Vine will be making a welcome return to pantomime in this year’s sparkling production of Aladdin, which promises to be pure panto genie-us…
Regular visitors to Richmond Theatre will recall Tim Vine’s hilarious performances as Jangles in 2010’s 'pretty much perfect panto' (The Times) Sleeping Beauty and as Muddles in Snow White (2009), and will be familiar with his fast-paced wit and brilliant comic timing, which promises to provide the highlight of 2012’s pantomime season. His appearance as Wishee Washee in this year’s panto will be a welcome return to the Richmond stage. Richmond Theatre played host to Tim on his Joke-amotive tour and when he recorded an episode for Dave’s One Night Stand here in 2011. On both occasions Tim performed to packed houses. He’s been referred to as 'a joke machine gun, rattling out one joke after another in quick succession'. Tim’s basic philosophy is, 'The audience came to hear jokes so I’ll give ‘em jokes' and that’s what he does. He gives them several hundred very silly ones.
Since winning the Perrier Newcomer Award in 1995, Tim has gone from strength to strength. He can currently be seen in series 5 of the hit BBC sitcom Not Going Out, in which he plays the part of Tim Adams, and his book The Biggest Ever Tim Vine Joke Book was recently released by Century Publishing. He also won Best Joke at the 2010 Edinburgh Festival.
