Strictly Confidential Set For Royal Audience

Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cornwall, President of the National Osteoporosis Society will attend a special gala performance of Strictly Confidential, the exciting new show written and directed by fellow charity Patron Craig Revel Horwood.

Craig, Patron of the National Osteoporosis Society since 2009, has invited Her Royal Highness to the special performance on Wednesday 19 June at the New Theatre in Oxford, which will raise funds for the charity.

Through their unfaltering support of the National Osteoporosis Society, The Duchess of Cornwall and Craig have worked together on a number of occasions to promote a better understanding of bone health. In 2009 on World Osteoporosis Day, during a visit to St Clement Danes’ School in London, they famously danced an impromptu Cha-Cha, which made headlines all over the world.

Craig’s new show, Strictly Confidential, follows the continued success of BBC One’s ratings-winning Strictly Come Dancing, to give theatre audiences across the UK the chance to get up close and personal with some of the stars of the show.

Craig Revel Horwood said:

'I am absolutely delighted that Her Royal Highness has been able to accept my invitation to join us as a very special guest. I know how much she enjoys Strictly Come Dancing, and I hope that she will love my new show, Strictly Confidential. All of the profits from the special gala performance will be donated directly to our charity, the National Osteoporosis Society, which offers support and information to anyone affected by osteoporosis. I first got involved with the National Osteoporosis Society because dance is an excellent way to help keep our bones strong and everyone can give it a go.'

Claire Severgnini, Chief Executive of the National Osteoporosis Society said:

'We know how much our President, Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cornwall supports the charity by working tirelessly to raise awareness of osteoporosis and fragility fractures. We are both thrilled and delighted that our Patron, Craig and the team at Strictly Confidential have chosen to put on this very special gala performance enabling us all to have a very enjoyable evening whilst helping to raise funds and increase awareness of this debilitating and life changing condition that affected our President's mother and grandmother.

As a charity, we rely on generous donations and are deeply appreciative of everybody who supports our work which enables us to provide vital services and information to those affected by osteoporosis and fragility fractures. We are enormously grateful to both Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cornwall and Craig for their support.'

The producers of Strictly Confidential said:

'We are proud and privileged to be hosting this Gala Performance of Strictly Confidential and that honoured Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cornwall will be in attendance. The National Osteoporosis Society is an incredible charity and we're very pleased to be able to raise awareness of the fantastic work it does.'

The Strictly Confidential tour starts on 12 June in Plymouth, and will travel across England, Wales and Scotland before closing in Leeds on 28 July. The show is proving extremely popular and extra dates have already been added.

The visit by The Duchess of Cornwall on Wednesday 19 June to Strictly Confidential at the New Theatre in Oxford will be covered by a Royal Rota. If you wish to be accredited for this event please make contact through the normal channels.
