Richmond Theatre - Q&A with Adam Speers

Adam Speers, the producer for 9 to 5: The Musical will be giving a post show Q&A on Mon 11 January. See his message to Richmond Theatregoers below:

Dear Richmond Theatregoer,

It’s been such an honour to bring 9 to 5: The Musical to the UK and we’re even more delighted to be able to bring a critically acclaimed new musical to Richmond.   2012 was a big year for ATG as we’ve been touring a greater amount of our musicals to venues around the country so that more people can enjoy the highest quality shows including the wonderful Tony Award winning production of South Pacific and the Olivier Award winning Legally Blonde The Musical. I’m pleased to say that ATG is proving its commitment to offering productions of the highest standard to venues outside of the West End, and 9 to 5: The Musical is another great example of this. As a traditional, more intimate drama house it is not often that Richmond Theatre gets the opportunity to put on a large scale musical like 9 to 5, so it’s fantastic that Richmond audiences are able to be a part of the first UK tour before ATG take it to the West End.

I think the sensational four and five star reviews that 9 to 5: The Musical has already received in the first leg of its tour speak for themselves and it’s not often that a musical is dubbed “the show that critics would pay to see” (The Times). But it’s not only the critics that approve, as this outrageous, feisty and thought-provoking show has been going down a storm with audiences across the country. I’m excited to be bringing it to Richmond’s classic setting, as upon seeing the show I’m sure you’ll agree the excellent production values and stellar casting makes it a musical that lives up to the Richmond standard.

I hope to see you there.

Adam Speers
