Approved by ATG's PR & Communications Officer, David Bradbury
Ambassador Theatre Group (ATG) has appointed Peter Monks in the role of Commercial Director of ATG Tickets.
In this new role, Peter will work alongside ATG’s Ticketing Director, Helen Brownlee, and will be responsible for the development of third-party business, Revenue Management and the ATG TheatreCard. Peter will be based at ATG’s Vauxhall offices in London.
Prior to joining ATG, Peter was Commercial Director of The Ticket Factory (TTF), previously the Box Office of the LG Arena, National Indoor Arena (NIA), and National Exhibition Centre (NEC) in Birmingham. In 2007, Peter was instrumental in transforming and re-launching this in-house box office into a service-led national ticket agency, and developing a new centralised data-led customer contact strategy and Insight capability. This innovation, together with advances in ticket distribution and access control technology, allowed Peter to oversee a doubling of TTF’s ticket sales, through acquisition of new key clients.
Peter was with the NEC Group for 15 years, starting his career at the International Convention Centre (ICC) Birmingham in 1998. Peter later joined the National Indoor Arena (NIA) and LG Arena sales team before moving to the Box Office operation in 2005.
Peter is on the Board of the International Ticketing Association (INTIX) and was awarded the ‘2012 Outstanding Ticketing Professional’ award at the annual INTIX Conference in San Antonio, Texas which recognises 'exceptional professionalism and achievement through innovative, informative and creative management.'
Commenting on his new role Peter said: ‘I am extremely excited to be joining ATG at a pivotal time for a company I have long admired. ATG Tickets is already a market-leading entertainment ticketing platform, and I look forward to further developing the revenue management offering, ATG TheatreCard membership scheme and, of course, build new third-party relationships to help further grow the business and ticketing inventory.’
ATG’s Ticketing Director, Helen Brownlee, said: ‘Peter has enjoyed a hugely successful career so far and is a well respected figure within the ticketing agency landscape. We’re absolutely delighted that Peter has joined the company and we look forward to working with him in expanding ATG Tickets.’
This latest announcement comes just weeks after the news that ATG had completed the purchase of theatre ticketing agency, The Ticket Machine Group Ltd (TMG), a move that would increase the ability of both companies to market and sell tickets for great shows to theatre goers.
