Liverpool Empire Theatre to hold a Celebrity Coffee Break in memory of Bernie Nolan.

The Liverpool Empire Theatre is set to hold a Celebrity Coffee Break in memory of Bernie Nolan on Friday 27 September from 12-2pm. The coffee break will take place in the Theatre’s Atrium Bar and all proceeds from the day will go to Macmillan Cancer Support. Several famous friends of the theatre are set to be popping along to put the kettle on and serve the cakes, the event is free to attend and everyone is welcome to drop in at any time from 12-2pm for coffee and cake and of course to make a donation to the charity. Hot drinks and cakes will be provided by the Liverpool Empire Theatre’s Cafe, Autograph.

The event is being held in memory of Bernie Nolan, who sadly lost her battle with Cancer earlier this year. Bernie was a regular on the Empire stage performing at our world famous theatre many times, most recently as Mama Morton in Chicago last year.

The Liverpool Empire Theatre’s General Manager, Diane Belding, said 'We are delighted to take part in the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning to raise vital funds for Macmillan Cancer Support, every penny we raise will help to change the lives of people affected by cancer. Bernie Nolan was a great friend of the Liverpool Empire, and we are incredibly proud to hold the event in her memory. Feel free to drop in on the day, have some delicious cake and join in the fun whilst supporting this worthy cause.'

A raffle will take place on the day for some fantastic prizes, and there will be a series of amazing money can’t buy items and experiences up for auction on the day including:

  • Signed gloves from England Goalkeeper Joe Hart
  • The chance to sit in on Rossie’s Radio City Breakfast Show
  • 2 Tickets to see Ghost at the Liverpool Empire, including luxury transport and overnight stay at Hotel Indigo
  • A signed Everton FC Shirt with certificate of authenticity
  • Tickets to an LFC game, return transport, plus overnight accommodation, including breakfast, in Liverpool

The coffee break is part of Macmillan Cancer Support’s flagship Coffee Morning national event, which this year aims to raise over £15m. Macmillan’s ambition is to reach and improve the lives of everyone affected by cancer in the UK, by providing them with medical, emotional, practical and financial support.
