We're looking for a skilled maintenance manager to ensure that all maintenance matters at The Regent Theatre and The Victoria Hall are promptly and efficiently completed within budgetary constraints.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: In conjunction with the Maintenance Assistant to physically implement planned preventive maintenance and running maintenance procedures to cover:-

  • Low voltage light and small power systems
  • Ventilation and air conditioning systems
  • BMS Control system
  • LPHW/HWS Heating systems
  • General plumbing services
  •  Fire protective systems and fire alarms
  • Joinery
  • Decorating
  • General Maintenance

  • To assist the General Manager in planning the Maintenance Schedule, co-ordinating maintenance cover and overseeing maintenance contracts and contractors.
  • In conjunction with the General Manager, responsibility for the ordering of materials and services required in accordance with the Company’s approved procedures.
  • To obtain quotations and specific technical information relating to all maintenance matters.
  • To liaise with contractors in ensuring that all entertainment’s licensing requirements are complied with and to schedule.
  • To ensure that all maintenance work is safe and complies with current entertainment’s licensing, fire, building and health and safety legislation.
  • To be available for call-out maintenance outside normal opening times.
  • To liaise with Visiting Companies re: maintenance matters.
  • To liaise with the Chief Electrician in ensuring that he/she carries out his/her specific responsibility of lamping and general maintenance of auditorium lighting in the Regent Theatre and Victoria Hall within the agreed parameters defined by the General Manager.
  • In conjunction with the Chief Electrician to ensure that PAT Testing and Risk Assessment is carried out on a regular, agreed, basis.
  • To recruit, train, appraise and manage the teams performance to ensure business and departmental objectives are achieved through the team.
  • To set up regular team meetings to ensure maintenance arrangements and costings are clearly understood and why they are being planned/proposed. 
  • To also communicate company information, procedures and goals.
  • To represent the department at the weekly Operations Meeting.
  • To ensure that staff are kept fully up to date with maintenance procedures and working practices through a structured training programme. 
  • To work closely with the General Manager in ensuring this programme is maintained and periodically reviewed.
  • To ensure all personnel changes are processed in accordance with the company’s procedures.
  • To attend training courses as required in order to further self development.
  • To adhere to all Health and Safety procedures to minimise the risk of injury and accidents.
  • To complete any other delegated task that may assist the company in achieving its business objectives.
