By Becky Martin

With rehearsals kicking off next week, the people of Aylesbury & beyond joined forces for not 1,but 2 festive events as panto spirit heightens and the countdown to Christmas officially begins!

Thu 19 Nov saw the star of the show,X Factor winner Sam Bailey embracing the cold and taking Aylesbury by storm with a rendition of  'We Built This City' live on stage at Aylesbury Christmas Lights Switch On. She was joined by Mr Funny himself,Andy Collins – playing Idle Jack, and together the pair warmed up the masses (although not before Andy had his fix of fun at the fair – the tea cup ride seemed to be a particular hit!

Family Fun Day took over the whole Theatre on Sat 21 Nov,in a panto-themed day full of arts, crafts, backstage doors, cast dances, face painting and a whole lot more! From playing Splat the Rat to sampling tasters of this year's Christmas menu – panto fans turned out in their hundreds to celebrate all things Dick Whittington.

So what's next  you say?! Well Santa's Parade is this Sun 29 Nov and we'll be there with our team of Juves (the young stars of the show!) Then rehearsals begin as Opening Night gets ever closer – oh yes it does!

Keep your eyes peeled when you're out and about folks – panto fever is taking over the town. There's an exclusive Dick Whittington Sundae on the menu at The Works, and if you head over to Rogue Bowling look our for the dazzling lanes paved with gold.

Watch this space panto pals for more goss from behind the scenes of panto 2016 – we can't wait to see you!
