In 1964 The Beatles visited Brasenose College. Only a few grainy photographs from the visit survive. One in particularly, featured on Brasenose College's website, shows Sir Noel Hall, the Principal of Brasenose College at the time and David Stockton, a history tutor, chatting to the group, along with Lord Jeffrey Archer, who is said to have arranged the visit.
Earlier this week, the cast of Let It Be met Brasenose College's current principal, John Bowers in his personal lodgings where the photograph was taken. Alongside Richard Loftus and Russell Souch, the principal and cast recreated the college's famous photograph.
The iconic music of The Beatles continues to be brought to life on stage at Oxford's New Theatre until Saturday 25 June. Let it Be, the spectacular concert jam-packed with over 40 of The Beatles greatest hits, celebrates the legacy of the world's greatest rock 'n' roll band.
