Tom Hiddleston

Tom Hiddleston Overview

Tom Hiddleston is an accomplished British actor who has starred in numerous stage, film and TV productions and who takes to the Donmar's stage to perform in Coriolanus, directed by Artistic Director Josie Rourke.

His London stage debut was made at Theatre 503 in 2005, followed with 2006 performances in Cheek by Jowl's European tour and Barbican run of The Changeling, for which he garnered an Ian Charleson Award nomination. In 2007 he worked with the company again on Cymbeline, and the same year made his debut at the Donmar Warehouse as Cassion in Othello. In 2008 he returned to Michael Grandage's direction again to play Lvov in Ivanov in the Donmar's West End season at Wyndham's.

More recently he has appeared in a number of films. After Archipelago in 2009, 2010 saw him appear in Thor, Midnight in Paris, as Captain Nicholls in War Horse and Freddie Page in The Deep Blue Sea. In 2011 and 2012 he reprised his role as Loki (first played in Thor in 2010) in films The Avengers and Thor: The Dark World. 2012 also saw him perform as Adam in Only Lovers Left Alive and Jamie Macmillan in London Project. In 2013 he played Great Escapo in The Muppets...Again! with Disney.

 
Television work started with a part in ITV's NIcholas Nickleby (2000) and went on to span Armadillo (2001), The Gathering Storm (2002), A Waste of Shame (2005), Victoria Cross Heroes (2006) and the part of Chris Vaughan in Casualty (2007). In 2008 he played Mr John Plumptre in the BBC's Miss Austen Regrets, and in 2009 appeared as William Buxton in Simon Curtis' BBC series 2 of Cranford. In 2012 he played Prince Hal in the BBC and Shakespeare Productions television production of Shakespeare's Henry IV Parts 1 and 2, and has subsequently appeared in Robot Chicken.
